Co-Founder, Lead Coach, Head of Goaltending

Marlène Boissonnault is a current professional PWHL Minnesota Frost Goaltender. Most recently having won the Walter Cup in 2025! Marlène also played for the Montréal Victoire for the 23-24 season. Prior to the PWHL league's formation, she spent four seasons with the PWHPA, where she became a 4-time league champion. A standout at Cornell University, Marlène set multiple records, earned Ivy League titles, and made a Frozen Four appearance, all while excelling academically with a Pre-Med Bachelor of Science degree and a spot on the Dean’s List. She has also represented Team Canada at the U18 and U22 levels and is currently progressing towards a role with the Senior National Team.

 Since graduating from NCAA Division 1 hockey, Marlène has continued her professional career while becoming a highly sought-after goaltending coach and consultant in the Calgary area and beyond. Her expertise spans all levels of hockey, from minor leagues to university and pro athletes, making her a trusted mentor for goaltenders aiming to elevate their game.

Co-Founder, Lead Coach, Skills and PowerSkating Lead

Shayla Katrick, with a degree in Sports and Business Management, is a highly regarded power skating and skills coach. She works with players at all levels, from beginners to professionals, and is recognized as one of Alberta's top female coaches. Shayla has led teams to provincial appearances, earning bronze and silver medals, and has set league records for team performance and individual player growth. Most recently, she has earned a coaching spot with Team Alberta as well as invited to be a practice guest-coach with the University of Calgary.

Her exceptional understanding of player development extends beyond technical skills, focusing on enhancing hockey IQ, agility, and on-ice decision-making. With over a decade of experience in training elite athletes, she also places strong emphasis on mental toughness and character-building, guiding players to excel both on and off the ice. Shayla's reputation for nurturing talent has made her a sought-after mentor in hockey circles, and her innovative coaching methods continue to elevate the standards of performance and sportsmanship within the game.

Spring hockey coaches

Kaylin is a former SAIT goaltender, the ACAC all-time saves leader, and 2023–2024 ACAC Player of the Year with four All-Conference selections. She also played a season in Sweden, gaining valuable international experience. Kaylin now coaches with the SAIT Women’s Hockey Team and the Calgary Fire program and served at the 2023 Alberta Challenge Cup, bringing her experience and passion for player development to every athlete she works with.

Kaylin Schellenberg

Becca Boswell played in the AJFHL (Calgary Titans), ACAC (SAIT Trojans), and USPORTS (University of Calgary Dinos), winning two U18AA Provincial gold medals. She has coached athletes from U9 to U22, highlighted by a Provincial Gold as an Assistant Coach with a U15AA team in the 2025–26 season. Becca is passionate about coaching and player development, focusing on strong technical habits, game awareness, and helping athletes stay composed and confident in their game. She creates a positive, challenging environment where players can grow, with the goal of helping each athlete reach their full potential and advance to the level they aspire to.

Rebecca Boswell

Connor is currently an assistant coach with the CIHA U17 Prep program and serves as a video analyst and scout for the Calgary Flames. He brings experience from a long playing career spanning the WHL, ECHL, and U Sports, offering a well-rounded perspective on player development and high-performance competition.

Connor Rankin

Mary has spent the last two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Calgary Fire, contributing to team development and supporting player and goalie performance. Known for her positive approach and attention to detail, Mary works with athletes of all levels to build strong fundamentals and game-ready skills. With over a decade of experience in one-on-one goalie training, Mary is a dedicated and knowledgeable coach focused on developing confident and technically-sound goalies. As a former AAA-level goalie in Ontario, she brings high-level playing experience and a strong understanding of the elite game.

Mary Stewart

Cody Jaman is an experienced goaltender with a strong background in high-level hockey, including three years in Junior A and one season at the collegiate level. He is coming off his freshman year at the University of Augustana and continues to pursue his playing career with aspirations of competing professionally in Europe.

With a well-rounded understanding of the game, Cody brings the ability to coach both goaltenders and players, combining technical insight with strong hockey IQ. He is passionate about sharing his experience and is excited to return to Precision Pursuit Hockey this off-season to help develop the next generation.

Doug Swanson

M.D.N., B.Ed., M.Sc.

Doug Swanson brings decades of elite experience and a rare, holistic approach to mental performance as Precision Pursuit Hockey’s Mental Performance Coach. As the founder of F.I.R.S.T. Place for Human Performance (est. 1996), Doug has dedicated his career to developing athletes and coaches not just in sport, but as complete individuals: mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially.

With over 20 years of coaching and nearly three decades as an educator at Red Deer College, Doug has worked across all levels of sport, including Hockey Canada’s national women’s development programs, the 2018 National Team, WHL organizations, and countless provincial, national, and international champions. His impact spans hockey, track and field, skating, and beyond - consistently helping performers unlock higher levels of consistency, confidence, and resilience.

Doug’s philosophy centers on self-discipline and ownership, guiding athletes through his proven frameworks such as F.I.R.S.T. (Focusing, Imagery, Relaxation, Self-talk, and Training) and the Athlete Performance Cycle. His programming challenges athletes to train with purpose, prepare with intention, and reflect with honesty, ultimately building self-directed performers who thrive under pressure.

Known for his engaging, thought-provoking delivery and ability to connect with athletes at every stage, Doug empowers individuals and teams to “stack their deck” and take control of their development. His work leaves a lasting impact, equipping athletes with the tools to perform - and live - at a higher level.
